Purchased at Ferro & Lazzarini, Vetreria d’Arte in Murano, Venezia, this set features a classic Venetian design of rich gold gilt and hand-painted enamel flowers set against rare amber glass. Both the centerpiece plate and vase are signed by artist “Maestro” Sandra Stangherlin. This rare set was hand blown in Tre Fuochi style. Tre Fuochi means “three flames” or “triple-firing” and is a rare technique that hails from the opulence of 18th century Venice where many wealthy Venetians sought out exclusive tableware to show off their elite status at dinners and balls. The technique involves significant 24 karat gold and painstaking manual work of painting gold leaf and enamels on the glassware.
