Hand Crafted Scallop Front Inlaid Wood Dresser Box

Length: almost 10 inches (25 centimeters) Width: 7 inches (almost 18 centimeters) Height: 3 inches (almost 8 centimeters) Weight: 12.15 ounces (345 g) This beautiful hand-crafted wood box was found with pen markings all over it, sticker residue & some imperfections listed below. I sanded it & gave it two coats of clear polyurethane. It still smells a little bit of polyurethane, but cleaned up very nicely. There were a few issues with it before I cleaned it up: The hardware was replaced & now fits a little loosely so the top wiggles a bit. The new hardware can be seen best in the second photo. There were a few spots that had been sanded too much before I got to it, so the edge does not line up perfectly. The last photo shows you one of the spots on the front, the back left corner of the bottom piece is sanded a bit too much and leaves a tiny gap, as well as the front right corner of the bottom piece (see photos above). It looks like there may have been some pedestal pieces added at some point, but removed, because there are barely noticeable corners notched from the bottom, especially on the left side. Look at the pictures of the bottom to see this. Finally, this piece was used, so has normal, lightly noticeable wear and tear. I was able to buff out most of the markings and scratches, but did not want to go too heavy on the sanding. This is a beautiful box with a hand-made look & light finish that you could easily finish up with a gloss coat if you wanted to.
