The blue iridescent color of these quartz crystals is the result of a specific treatment process, where the crystals are heated and fine vaporized gold is bonded to the stone's surface. elenabarbie @medababie thank you! No they're not dyed. To become this color the quartz crystals go through a plating process where they're put in a special machine, vacuum chamber, also with a certain metal added. Metals that can be added are usually silver, platinum, gold, and titanium. When put into the vacuum the metal will actually attach itself as a thin and permanent layer to the crystals. In result and oddly enough gold can turn quartz crystals an iridescent blue. Hope that answered your question! 😊
