The Flight Coat has been described as the Holy Grail of men’s coats, with a lineage dating back to the 1960's, Frank Sinatra, and flying when flying was a civilized, well-dressed experience. Description The H-F Flight Coat has been described as one of H-F's classics, created in the 1960's. Think of Frank Sinatra in Come Blow Your Horn where he wore H-F. It is a topcoat, which is a light overcoat (though it still has good weight), in gabardine with set-in sleeves made for the business traveler. The inside collar label has an H-F “Flight Coat” patch and shows an image of a plane in flight. An inside chest label just below the inside pocket identifies the store where the coat was purchased (circa 1991, one original owner), Barneys New York, and the “Hand Customized” moniker. The quality of this coat cannot be overstated. It’s extremely solid and wears like iron – it will last for decades more under normal wear. Excellent Condition: The garment itself shows no signs of wear, though a small panel of the inside lining had worn and was replaced by a high-quality tailor in New York. Stitching on inside Barney's tag is undone in one corner.
