The battery compartment is located in the trailer directly behind the cab. To open battery compartment, press release latch down and lower door. Insert batteries with one positive terminal toward the left and one toward the right as indicated in the battery compartment and in the illustration (FIG. 1). To activate the lights, turn the red switch on the underside of the trailer to the "ON" position. To remove the two Hess Racers from the trailer, turn the red knob on the rear of the trailer counterclockwise and lift (FIG. 2). Pull the green ramp all the way out and lower (FIG. 3). To replace the racers, position them on the ramp, raise and slide the ramp forward. RACER OPERATION The Hess Racers are equipped with a friction motor capable of running in the forward or reverse direction.
