laurajames418 Hi! The strap is 18 inches in length from the center of the strap to the center of the bag. The strap is adjustable. I purchased it as a vintage bag so I don't have an authenticity certificate. The bag is not a true or bright white so if that's what you are looking for, this might not work. I am going to post pics of the bag next to a white shirt and an off-white pillow so you can see the difference. I will also post pics of the inside. Hope this info helps!

laurajames418 Hi! Thank you for the kind words! I don't have the dust bag. I would say the bag is a vanilla-white, but definitely not ivory or cream. If you can zoom in on the pic with the bag next to the bright white shirt, you can see the shade difference. If you need me to post more pics in better lighting, that's no problem at all! I completely understand your dilemma! :)
