ladybrow btw I just got scammed buying perfume and thru that process i learned that poshmark strictly prohibits the sale of perfumes it’s a violation of their terms of service because perfume contains alcohol and is highly combustible that’s why it can’t be shipped by usps priority mail (air) I’m reporting your listing for selling a prohibited item

ladybrow @shbaccari if you look at what those perfumes are listed under they are usually listed under other categories like mens “grooming” or “bath and body” or sometimes even “electronics” they do this to try and get away with poshmarks algorithm flagging it there is not perfume category because of this

ladybrow @shbaccari I didn’t know either Ive bought perfume once before on poshmark and the only reason i found out it was prohibited is because a seller sent me a half empty bottle of perfume and I opened a case due to the new item “not being as described” I got refunded fully but was told to keep the half empty bottle as it cant be shipped back via usps priority mail (can catch fire and cause a plane to crash) and poshmark doesn’t want that liability

ladybrow @shbaccari im not sure what happened on the sellers end but Im assuming she got to keep my money although her account seems to be temporarily suspended because she hasn’t contacted me since Friday and we had been in constant contact since I opened the case because she was denying she sent an empty bottle

ladybrow @shbaccari and honestly after doing some reading on the subject online I’m inclined to believe her there was another person on Reddit who had a similar thing happen to them and they are saying the perfume must have leaked in the plane during transport due to pressure so idk if she was intentionally scamming me or not but either way I got to keep a half bottle of perfume and full refund so I’m not mad about it

ladybrow @shbaccari it seems to me like the only time poshmark does anything about it is if someone reports it or their algorithm catches it or if someone opens a case but other than that yes I agree there’s a lot of ppl violating their terms of service unfortunately which is there for safety reasons

ladybrow @shbaccari btw the no alcohol policy via air transport (priority mail) is a usps policy and poshmark just abides by it but of course ppl lie to usps when shipping and don’t disclose that it’s a flammable prohibited item
