Pics of the first three rows are AUTHENTIC St Louis bags. These are pics pics of my bags and were personally taken by me. Last three rows of pics of fake bags were found in Google or pm.

@adrianab67 I made this post since you asked me what made me think it's a replica.

Thank you so much! She bought it on eBay, so I am pretty sure she is protected and can file with them. This posting is so helpful! Thank you! 😘

@linzyd Hi, please read my posting. I posted up pictures comparing authentic bags from counterfeits.

Thank you very much for your knowledge. I recently discovered Goyard and am a novice. I definitely know my other bags but this one is new to me.

I have a few questions. How do you know which rows have 14 and which have 16 dots? Also I am looking for a credit card case. How can I tell which ones are fake, other than the obvious?
Oct 30Reply

greenpeach
@pammalla Dot counts should be 16-14-16-14 diagonally. You should be able to tell fake credit card cases by its canvas print and the heatstamp. If you don't already own a Goyard piece, it's best to go into a Goyard boutique and see the authentic Goyard canvas in person. Once you see it, you'll be able to pick up how the fake ones looks off.

Thank you so much @greenpeach. I don't know where they sell them but I will certainly try to find a store.

Hello~ could you check if the goyard that iloveleather(user id) selling is authentic, please? I see some signs it might be fake but she is claiming authenticity. I am by no means an expert. thanks! :)
Nov 11Reply

greenpeach
@kunstkammer Sorry, I just saw your message. You are right. Her bag is 100% fake. It's not a very low-grade cheap fake though. I'm guessing she probably paid $125-150 for it. lol

@rizzo1775 Hi, please see this post. I made this Goyard reference post. Too many to point out, but her bag is one of the better copies I've seen before. But still, it's an obvious fake. Compare my first picture with the other bag's second picture.

thanks for clarifying!

@manhattanchic46 This listing is not for sale. Please read the post. Rows 1-3 show details of an authentic bag and rows 4-6 show details of a fake bag. This is a reference posting for people to look for when they buy a used Goyard.
Dec 27Reply

greenpeach
@manhattanchic46 BTW, I understand that you are upset at me for pointing out that you listed a fake bag as authentic. You listed a very low-grade fake bag as authentic for $350 (I see that you lowered it to 250 now) initially, and I didn't want any ladies here who never owned a Goyard St Louis bag to buy yours thinking they got a great deal on an authentic bag.

I'm sorry to bother you! Thank you for posting this info. I have a Goyard in the large white tote but still have a hard time distinguishing between the fakes and the real bags. Ispasa is selling the new grey color and I can't tell. Would you be able to look at her Goyard listing and give me your opinion?
Jan 08Reply

greenpeach
@allthingsgoodin Hi, I went and saw her bag. It's totally fake. It's one of the better copies I've seen, but it's still obviously a fake. First thing you should look at is the handle base shape, neck and stitchings. Also, look at the awful serial number heatstamp. It's also stamped at wrong place and the date is off. You own an auth. Goyard St Louis, so it looks off to u too, but non-owners don't know and get scammed. Thanks for your tag. I'll leave comments on her post.

@greenpeach hey, I saw that you tagged me in something, but when I went to check, it was no longer there. You were saying something about my goyard listed?
Jan 27Reply

greenpeach
@smartypants Hi, yes. I said that your bag is an authentic bag. Someone listed a fake bag claiming that it was authentic, so I said to take a look at your authentic Goyard bag if they want to see an authentic one.
Jan 28Reply

smartypants
@greenpeach awwww, thanks so much love. Yeah, a lot of females on this website get confused of what a real one looks like, the details and such. Having these details you listed, definitely should give some in site of what to look for.

Hi there @greenpeach I purchased a pm St. Louis from a consignment store in New York via phone and had it shipped to me which I received yesterday. I was guaranteed authenticity but they did not tell me that they had the handles and seaming redone (which I know are common repairs for these bags) until I called and questioned it...
Feb 02Reply

sjcarper
Now I'm really wondering if it is not indeed authentic at all. Is there a way for me to get photos to you? I would appreciate any help you could throw my way. I have looked at your pictures and I do think the canvas follows the rules you have posted but I'm still concerned.
Feb 02Reply

greenpeach
@sjcarper Hi, sorry. I just logged into pm and got your tag. Let me know which color you received. I'll post up detailed pics. Or, if you post up pics and tag me from there, I'll give you my opinion.
Feb 06Reply

greenpeach
@sjcarper Hmmm... but they said that they had handles and seamings redone? Do you know if they got it done through Goyard? I hope they didn't turn an authentic bag into a fake looking bag....
Feb 06Reply

greenpeach
@sjcarper Let me know color/size of your bag. Also, may I ask how much you paid for it? Can you make a posting with (1) Handle base pic, (2) Canvas print, (3) Serial number, (4) Bag pic with pouch? Please tag me from your posting.
Feb 06Reply

greenpeach
@coveralldoll Rows 1-3 are pics of authentic bags, 4-6 are replicas. Canvas dot count (very top) should be 14-16-14-16 sequence. Also, look at the first picture. Handle base should look like that.

Awesome post! Now if only the people selling fakes would have a reality check and realize how foolish they look claiming authenticity... 🙄

Do you think this could be a fake? Should the monogram be centered between the handles? It is not on this bag:

Hi. I am a little confused about the info you are posting regarding the dots? I counted the middle row of your first pictures which are authwntic, right? But the amount of dots in the middle are 17 dots.Just trying to understand, thank you, Ali

Hi, what about vintage Goyard St Louis bags? I have one that I would love someone to authenticate. Where can I do that? Can you, if I send you pictures? Please let me know. Thank you.

Hey there, I’m sorry to bother but I am contesting a possible fake purchase with Poshmark.. my question is, when Goyard changed to stencils, did they change the number of dots in the “Y” also? I have a black PM with all dots numbering 14.
Seller is claiming that they no changed the number of dots when they switched to stencils

You are a lifesaver! I came across this post about 2 mos ago and it’s the best info I’ve gotten on authenticating handbags, but I have one question to really solidify it. Does the 14-16-14 go for even the older bags when the serial #s were on the pouches? Also is the newer Goyard made in stamp font different from the newer ones? Thats the only thing Im not sure about. Thanks soooo much!!!

Just curious cause I can’t find it anywhere but do you know how to date a goyard item. Can you figure out the date of manufacture like you can with Louis Vuitton date codes?

@greenpeach Thank you for this resource! I wonder if the Ys should be touching in authentic Goyard? I know not all the Ys have to be touching, but if none are touching at all, the bag is fake, right?
