He gained instant celebrity in 1961, when Jacqueline Kennedy appeared on the cover of Look magazine in his blue sleeveless linen dress, for a family photo with President Kennedy, Caroline, and newborn John-John. Mrs. Kennedy had purchased several of his designs while her husband was still a senator. This is one of those iconic, serious pieces that not just every girl can carry off - perhaps if there were "mourning dresses" in the 80s like there were in the Victorian era, Morton Myles' labels would be even more collectible.
