HELLO! PLEASE READ!
So, this beautiful dress had a bit of an oopsie, in that, the sequins are from the 1930s and made of gelatin. I found this out when I washed the dress and they disintegrated! So I will be repairing this dress but it’s not sellable at this point 😿

do you have pix of the repairs, and how are the armpits? thank you!

@euclide added pics of the shoulders where it looks like someone redid the diamond shapes with transparent sequins and the pits. The right pit is a little crispy (something sparkly, deodorant? Glue?) but they aren't stained or anything noticeable.

@mashanda both shoulders? interesting. (crispy--is the silk still ok? not cracking?) thanks!!

@euclide yeah, at least the shoulder repairs are symmetrical! The 8th pic is the crispy pit, when I zoomed in it looks like the outer layer of silk had a hole that's why I think it may be glue, but it seems to be doing the trick. When I bought it some of the armpit sequins were wadded up in a weird way (I picture someone doing an intense chicken dance for like 12 hours straight) so I just removed them.

@euclide just thought you might find this interesting, these sequins are from the 1930s and were made with gelatin, so they dissolve when wet! That explains the weird crispy armpits and bent sequins!
