Good Times was a popular spin-off of the All in the Family spin-off Maude, detailing the trials and tribulations of a family living in the projects on the south side of Chicago. Florida Evans (Esther Rolle), her husband James (John Amos), their wisecracking son J.J. (Jimmy Walker), and neighbor and best friend Wilona (Ja'net DuBois) exploited, to great comic effect, subjects such as inflation, unemployment, and bigotry. This four-disc collection contains all 48 classic episodes from the third and fourth seasons, when Good Times tackled topical themes including the loss of the family patriarch James. Times are tough but if laughter is the best medicine, then J.J. must be the doctor, administering double doses of hilarious hijinks to everyone. Soon, it seems like the Good Times are back again.
