Hi, I am wondering about the size. Is it a mans or women's trench coat? I see you have it listed as XL, but all other Gleneagles coats I see listed on poshmark and other websites have tags saying "size 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50" and so on. Any idea which one of these sizes it is. I am considering getting this for my Dad for Christmas (his present one is in tatters), so the size is very important. thank you for your time!

@mandmwheeler7 Hi! Unfortunately the size tag was cut off but it fits like an XL. Are you able to compare the measurements from his old jacket to the measurements in the description? I'll take whatever other measurements you need as well, of course. Also, if you decide to buy it and it isnt exactly what you are looking for, I will certainly accept a return on it🙂. Sorry I dont have the number size.

Sorry it's taken me longer to get a hold of the old coat. Here are the measurements in inches- Sleeves are 26 from shoulder to cuff, 16 1/2 from armpit to cuff. Length-38 from front collar to hem, 41 from back collar to hem, 39 1/2 from shoulder to hem. Width from shoulder to shoulder- 20 in front and back. Armpit seam to armpit seam- 26 in back, 32 in front. I took all these measurements with the coat buttoned laid out flat. Thank you so much for all your trouble, you are a rare generous person

@mandmwheeler7 Hi! Ok, so somethings are the same abd some things not. Shoulder to cuff is 26". Armpit to cuff 16.5". From top of collar at its highest spot to hem 43". Top of shoulder at shoulder seam to hem 39". Shoulder seam to shoulder seam 18". Is that where you measured the shoulder to shoulder? Armpit seam to armpit seam 24". So it seems similar but maybe not wide enough at the shoulders/chest. I took the shoulder and armpit measurements from the seams. What do you think?

THANK YOU !!! So Much for all your time and trouble. I think you were right originally about the size 40. Yeb, I think it's smaller then his old one, and that one is already a bit snug. So, I'm afraid I will have to keep looking. Which makes me feel terrible after all your help, but I don't think this one will fit him.
