Super cute and functional hiking shorts from REI. These have a long range of fit, especially if your kid is on the skinny side. These fit my daugther from 6-10 with adjustable waist. Quick dry nylon with six pockets - two for hands, side two have snaps for treasures, and back two have velcro. Roll up tabs at each side have snaps to adjust the length to your liking. Excellent shape. I have a lot of two others listed separately.
