Description
Giovanni Vietri of Italy designed this Chicken Pitcher in the 1970's. The chicken pitchers date back to the Renaissance period in the Republic of Florence from the year of 1478. Originally the Chicken pitchers were for wine. Giuliano ordered artisans to create chicken pitchers for the peasants in the village after chicks frightened off assassins. He said the pitchers were gifts of good luck for warding off assassins.
The lovely pitcher is a miniature of those wine pitchers. Creamy white and hand painted with pink floral decor.
Ceramic pitcher now called juice or cream pitchers. Stands 4 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" handle to handle.
Condition is very good with no found problems.
