German Porcelain Mahatma Gandhi Statue Dresden Mark Sculpture 9" x 9" Vintage. Mark underneath has some issues, namely that it appears to be marked over or doubled in an offset way and this obscures the legibility of the mark. I know that it has a 5 point crown above a capital N with serifs and below that is something of something and below that is Made in Germany and below that is not legible. There is also the number 614 pressed into the base. The mark is a blue porcelain mark beneath which can be seen with magnification. The condition of the statue itself is very good. No chips, cracks or previous repairs. No color damage. Looks to be near mint. There are some minor scuffs as you would expect where the bottom comes into contact with surfaces. We know PAX made similar ones, but this has notable variances from the PAX version including the eyes being uncovered by the glasses and the pose faces to the right rather than to the left. There are no known examples of this published on the internet and no previously solds to compare it to. AI has provided the most likely candidate for a maker as the Nymphenburg Porzellan Company, but we don't think the crown logo is a direct match.
