Georgian Era Sterling Silver Butterfly With DIAMONDS and Garnets Antique Brooch

When we started this business this was in the very first lot I bought for resale and I fell in love with this brooch and tried to save it for myself. As I began to research it I discovered it was from the Georgian period. I loved it even more. I tested the metal and it tested as silver. Then I got a Presidium II gem tester and lo and behold it is garnet and diamond. Our older son, whom we affectionately call Woogie and named our business for has a disorder that mimics autism. Our younger son is basically feral despite our best efforts. Also in having experts value the piece, I could never in good conscience wear this anywhere. I'd be terrified of what might befall it. But it is also too beautiful to sit in a jewelry box. The main stone appears to be a rose cut garnet. There are also about 17 more garnets and 10 diamonds!
