Coal miner’s daughter chic: Two pieces of company scrip—that is, tokens used in place of legal tender by workers living on site at American mining and logging companies—have been refashioned into charms for this necklace. The larger token, silver in color, reads “GOOD FOR 1oo IN MERCHANDISE” at J. O. Sundstrom’s general store in Lindsborg, Kansas. The smaller (gold in color) was good for 5 cents “in trade” in Astoria, Oregon. Chain is approximately 14 inches long. Big coin is roughly 1.5 inches in diameter. Own two pieces of Kansas, Oregon, American, and industrial history. Cosplay as Loretta Lynn. See if you can buy a bag of peanuts with this fake money!
