However, many Gemologists & Geologists differentiate the 2 due to slight color differences & structure. But most of all- (this cut being a strong example) the difference is that Mica Sparkles to the core. Whereas most Lepidolite does have a lustrous effect but does not carry the trademark of glitter. While they share many similarities, they are not the same mineral. While they have a similar chemical composition , there are differences in their crystal structure, physical properties, & appearance.
