Gemmy Animated The GRINCH and Max.
The Animated Grinch and Max Chimney Scene is an animated Christmas decoration made in 2007, and is based on the the Universal Studios film "How the Grinch stole Christmas". The Grinch wears a Santa Claus costume and his dog Max wears a reindeer costume. The scene features a white snow base and a chimney with a Christmas tree sticking out of it, which the Grinch holds. When activated, the Grinch turns his head and moves the tree in and out of the chimney as the tree lights up while the Grinch speaks phrases from the 1966 Boris Karloff cartoon and plays the original Thurl Ravenscroft version of "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch".
Trivia
This is the first Grinch item by Gemmy that is based on the Boris Karloff cartoon from 1966, (Other Grinch products from 2018 onward follow the same style) which is strange because all the other Grinch products made by Gemmy from 2000-2007 appear to be based on the Jim Carrey film from 2000. This is proven by seeing that the Jim Carrey version of the Grinch theme song is used on all the OTHER animated Grinch products, while this one uses the Thurl Ravenscroft version.
This item includes a never before heard line that does not seem to be used in the 1966 Grinch cartoon, nor the storybook itself: "You invited me for Christmas, in spite of the facts. But could you also please invite my dog Max?" It is possible that this line may have been by Gemmy Industries alone.
