Coming out of the GQ x Gap 2016 collaboration (which, honestly, looks insane in retrospect - those pants are SO TIGHT), this was the only piece that I thought was worth a damn. And guess what, I was right, as usual. This thing is a soft, hard-wearing moleskin in a vibrant reddish-burgundy that definitely keeps the wind out. It features side seam pockets, so important on any shirt jacket, and two cheat pockets. The button material is serious. the fabrication is good. The cut, uncharacteristically from the Gap and especially from a Collab like this, is good. It has PRIMALOFT lining (put a trademarked name on a quotidian material and I'm there, baby) with a sturdy nylon liner. I talk a lot of shit about the Gap, but this is good stuff. My big complaint? The pocket bag lining is that same nylon which isn't very soft and gets cold very easily, so kind of unpleasant in the very. cold Why am I selling it? Well, of all ironies, it's been supplanted by a hill city (failed gap sub brand) shirt jacket that basically improved on all the things I didn't like here. Also, I really tend to only wear it around Christmas and I really gotta change up the family Christmas photo.
