A hand-beaded mermaid gown has a low sheer cleavage in the front and back and unique sheer long sleeves made of crochet beaded lace and a vintage rose pattern. The beading sparkles like diamonds, with every move the dress really glistens and sparkles. Neckline and long sleeves are illusion material (a Galia Lahav trademark); sleeves are very stretchy. sheevabee Awww thanks so much. It's a magical gown and I felt beautiful in it. It pains me to sell it but when else am I going to wear it?? The dress is sort of TTS, but does have give in the sheer parts, that's what Galia is known for, her allusion look. The dress can also be altered to be longer and shorter.

sheevabee No worries, I totally understand. Fortunately I'm home staying safe and healthy trying to donate to others in need! I'm 5'9 - around 6' with the heels I wore for my wedding. However the dress can be shortened/lengthened bc the bottom lace can be removed and replaced. Have you tried on this dress before, or any Galia Lahav dress before? What are your measurements, if you don't mind me asking.

sheevabee Hi There, so sorry about the delay here. The only alteration made to the dress was removal of the beads in the back. This was done when I purchased the dress so GL knew to make my dress without it. I also added a breast cup liner (like the ones in bikinis and sports bras) for an extra lift; the cups are removal and do not alter the dress in any way. sheevabee No, I asked GL to exclude them because if you decide to wear your hair down for your wedding, your hair will get caught in the beads. I know I wanted to wear my hair down for my wedding and when I tried it on initially, it was a hassle to untangle my hair out :/ My measurements are 36" Bust / 28" Waist / 38" Hips - for fortunately you can take in your Bust and Hips since I'm slight bigger. For the waist, I will be honest, I wish my dress was tighter so you can take that in as well.

sheevabee So if you look at Pictures #1 and #6, my waist is a little looser than I would have preferred. I wanted it to be exactly like the model in pictures #7 and #8. The reason is exactly what people say - you WILL lose a pound or two in you waist in the 1-2 days up to your wedding. I've always been slender/slim but I definitely looked a little thinner the day of my wedding. Not complaining lol but it explains the looseness in my waist. Let me find a pic from my fitting to show you the difference...

sheevabee I added my last fitting pic from 1 week before (9/5/19) as picture #8. you can see my waist was snitched and perfectly tight. but i lost a pound or two after my last fitting/before my wedding so my dress was slightly loose on my wedding day. i still LOVE my dress and how i felt/looked, but i do think you'll be able to fit in it.

Were you easily able to move, dance, lift your arms? Another question I had was about the train? Are you able to attach it to the dress?

sheevabee @jacktaylor2113 Obviously I am biased but it is such a beautiful dress! I knew I wanted that dress even before I got engaged to my now husband. What I love most about it was how it curved my body, and GL is known for her illusion look so the arms and chest area look like the dress is painted on you. It's beyond gorgeous. I only wore my dress for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and portion of the reception so I don't think there's that much stretch anywhere.

sheevabee @jacktaylor2113 It is definitely not a dress you can just slip on or off. It's meant to be tight. Because the bottom half is all beading it's heavy but not like a ball gown that has many layers. This has 2 thin sheer layers under the beading and that's it. Dancing, moving, etc is all fine. Your seamstress will tighten/loosen the arms to be skintight. And yes, it bustles :) I was also 6'1" with heels on my wedding day so perfect for you can save money not altering the length.

sheevabee @emrenee131 Hello! It's an EU size 8 / US size 4, since I am 5'9 and 6'1 with my wedding shoes. There is room for it to be taken both in and out if needed, as well as shortening or lengthening it. It's a show-stopper dress, I felt like a million dollars!
