commissioned by Aldo in 1954, the crest represents Guccio, Aldo, and his three sons, Paolo, Giorgio and Roberto. Aldo was the director of Gucci since 1937 alongside his father Guccio, and working also with his brother, Rodolfo. Paolo was controversial and was fired for trying to start his own line while still working for Gucci. His father and Rodolfo "buried" all Paolo Gucci designs as best they could and formed a quiet gesture to not sell Gucci anywhere Paolo bags were...in this forcing department stores to choose Gucci. these rare clips bearing the family name are a piece of history and over 40 years old 💯! some wear over the years but only adds an antiqued look! pads removed from age.
