GUCCI BAG - JACKIE O 1961

Pristine Jackie O bag w/dust bag. Vintage Rare Find. This shoulder bag has been in storage and used only a few times since I purchased in Italy years ago. Comes w/ authenticity cards. Measurements: Width:12.6 in | Height:8.7 in | Depth:1.6 in. Made of black grained leather, with gold detailing lined with the original "Gucci Green” leather inside which makes this particular bag extremely unique and sought after as the original Gucci green has been revived in 2024. No imperfections or scratches to the hardware. Celebrities have long been fans and it continues to be a staple within the fashion community and is eternally sought after for its classic appeal. Trends come and go, but few purchases withstand the test of time, quite like Gucci’s famous Jackie Bag. Named for Jackie Onassis Kennedy— who made the bag famous when she was spotted with it constantly throughout the ‘70s — the sleek, half-moon-shaped handbag had a different name entirely when it first entered the former first lady’s closet. The first version of this bag was originally called the G1244; Gucci eventually began referring to it as “the Jackie,” as she was photographed with it so often. The chic style was one of her most-loved bags while she was living in Manhattan, inevitably, shooting the bag into stardom. It did not became officially become known as the Jackie 1961, however, until 2020 when Alessandro Michele decided to revive the bag proving that timeless bags/fashion will never go out of style.
