GRACEFUL 1940s' BURGUNDY FELT FEDORA WITH TALL FEATHER & HALF VEIL

This is a truly beautiful vintage relic from the fashionable 104s'! This fedora has a rounded crown and a short upturned brim which is shaped to end in a point at the front and back. There is a matching grosgrain band around the crown, plus a bow at the front where it wraps around a stunning very long/tall feather is the same color. To complete the look there is a matching half veil. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no label, but there is an imprint in side the hat that reads: BELVEDERE - HENRY POLLAK, INC. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
