GEOFFREY BEENE Adorable Off-White Wool Suit with Fluffy Black Dots SIZE 8

This adorable vintage suit from Geoffrey Beene is a woven off-white wool with puffy black dots scattered randomly throughout the fabric. The jacket has a pointed collar made in a shaggy black lamè, long sleeves, large flap pockets, and small shoulder pads. It closes with five fantastic domed acrylic buttons that are embellished with raised black dots to mimic the fabric. The pencil skirt has no waistband and a hidden back zipper. Both pieces are lined in ivory silk charmeuse. The suit can be dated to the latter half of the 1990s by the UNITE union label that was used from 1995 until 2004. The suit is labeled size 8 (Geoffrey Beene put his labels inside the left sleeve), and the measurements appear to be consistent with a modern size 8.
