This is a beautiful and Simple Freshwater Pearl Necklace with a round brass Toggle Closure.
Freshwater "pearls" are often times harvested from Mussels living along the shore and are created when a bit of sand or rock gets trapped inside the mussel and reacts with the nacker that is inside it's shell resulting in the not too perfect "pearls" that are often harvested with their meat.Each is between 4mm and 8 mm .The Dimensions of the necklace are 17"x1/4"appropriately.

I love the mystery of Pearls.They come in so many shapes and sizes.These came out of my adopted harbour town where we not only still have Fisher Families,but also those that pick all sorts of Shellfish.Those are the smart bunch who Started stringing pearls they found in Mussels.Because they are technically Freshwater pearls,they just were not made in oysters,but in their cousins from the Mud Bog the Mussels.
