19th-century dancing ballerina figural cigar cutter.
She pliés to present a double-blade cutter to snip off the tip of a cigar.
She is a mirror image—the same on both sides.
Her bodice is detailed, and she wears a small necklace with a pendant at her throat, all in a tiny, precise rendering.
She’s marked Sterling.
We’ve seen similar ones as fobs with different faces, in metal, marked Germany or Paris, but this little lady is all sterling silver and not a fob.
Purchased about 40 years ago from Richard Jenkins, one of the premier dealers in “smalls.”
She stands 2” and is in pristine, working condition. She is a little gem.
