French 1800s 'Lampe Moderatuer' Electrified Moderator Lamp Metal Lined Lampshade

Antique french brass moderator lamp from the 1800's. Originally an oil lamp. It was then converted into an electric lamp in the 1900's. A common practice in Europe as homes acquired electricity. Plaque reads: "Lampe A Moderateur Perf J Brevette S Sans Garantie Du Government" Made by Joseph Schlossmacher, Paris. He produced moderator oil lamps from approximately 1843-1860 under the company name "JS". Bronze Charles X tole style lamp. Black shade with stunning copper bath lining. Shade is made of a thick fiber based material. Double socket with weighted metal pull chains. Felt bottom. Bulbs are smaller than standard. Purchase will include extras. Works perfectly.
