Approx. 8 x 7 inches.
Freeman McFarlin was founded by Gerald McFarlin and Maynard Anthony Freeman in 1927, operating McFarlin Potteries in El Monte, California.
Maynard Freeman signature appears on many pieces, along with designers like Kay Finch, Rutledge, Hetrick, and Wright. Finch created new designs for the company during the 1960s–70s.
Their figurines featured many colors: tan, gold leaf, silver leaf, red, black, green, white, and a Lladro-like blue/white. White and gold were the most common. Red visible on gold-leaf items (as seen here) is not a flaw—it is a base layer used to enhance vibrancy and often shows with age.
Gold leaf (aka gold foil) is real gold beaten into thin sheets, about 0.12 microns thick.
