Frank M. Whiting & Co. Wine Bottle Coaster

Manufactured in the early 20th century by the premier silversmiths, Frank M. Whiting & Co. This sterling (92.5% solid, not plated) silver and crystal wine bottle coaster was the height of luxury decor in a Depression--era nation. Few could afford such an extravagance, so seeing one of these is a rare occurance your guests will remember. Of those still making fleeting appearances a century after being made, examples with the added embellished detail of the silver surround, combined with the starburst pattern (raised inward toward the center to perfectly hold the concave bottom of a wine bottle), are even more scarce. As you can see from the photos, not many ~100 year old antiques have sailed oceans of time and arrived in the condition of this amazing piece. It has clearly been treasured by its owners at every step of its journey. Realistic offers will be considered.
