No stains from makeup or pens. Canvas Cotton interior with PVC exterior means it is durable & easy to clean. Vegan & natural looking. Boho beachy quality. Some very minor stripping of shoulder strap along the edge, but it is not noticeable when carrying, you have to look closely. See pictures.
