Hand stitched by indigenous artisans, molas are hand sewn by the native Guna artisans in Panama. A mola is a hand made textile that formed a part of the traditional indigenous women's clothing however they can be used in various ways such as quilts or framed art. The molas are made using a reverse appliqué using several layers of different colored cloth. Each piece is unique one of a kind. This colorful piece measures approximately 6 5" square and 3/4" deep.
