Fire Erupted From the Center of the Earth - appliquéd and stitched cotton

This was created as part of an exhibition called "Earth, Air, Fire, & Water". It was based on photos that I took of Devil's Tower in northeastern Wyoming and I imagined what it would have looked like when the volcano erupted over 200 million years ago, creating the huge tower of rock. Collaged and stitched cotton, including my own photos printed on cotton. Ready to hang with sleeve and slat.
