@liledeglace Thanks for the note! These are a few of my oil paintings. All are works still in progress…. Too many hours to count put into each as I’m teaching myself oil painting. I work much faster in charcoal & pastels. I also have a few of my works listed in my closet. I love sharing…. Some how my rabbit hole scrolling ended up in your closet. ☺️✨

@kkin I’m rooting for you love! I took Chinese calligraphy and really enjoyed that class and the final was the construction of a long scroll and my parents were a bit too proud of that project that they hung it up but then we moved and my inks and stuff are still missing in action!

We were only allowed to use soil ink mostly black and I wasn’t sure if colors were allowed but I wished I had challenged myself with an actual painting class because their were too many nude models to draw and my innocent mind couldn’t really handle the way that artist teacher decided to organize that crazy class!

Thank goodness it was a 3 hour per week class and only one meeting so I can’t say my commitment to art classes is as strong as yours but I admire your dedication! Let’s inspire each other to both be more detailed painters! Happy early July 4th, pff!

@liledeglace Bob Ross! My family love watching his painting sessions. I also especially like watching & listening to Stuart Davies on YouTube. Check him out and let me know what you think. He does zoom lessons/sessions as well though I have never participated. I just love watching his illusion of detail technics.

@kkin me too! I love watching and practicing force perspective and I love drawing buildings! Picture 4 is a little scary! If it is based in reality and this is a scene you saw in real life, I feel so sorry for you❤️🩹 i love peaceful scenes but I’m guessing it’s a piece about human nature and how some resort to violence by default💔🤦🏻♀️stay safe and please enjoy a festive and safe 4th of July fireworks tomorrow 🎆

@liledeglace I tend to paint dark as I have had a lot of adverse childhood experiences. Art is my therapy. However that piece “Entanglement” (I’m still working on) was inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream a comedy by Shakespeare c. 1595/96. The play is set in Athens & consists of several subplots that revolve around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta. One subplot involves a conflict among 4 Athenian lovers; Demetrius, Helena, Hermia, & Lysander, fairies & a misguided love potion.

@kkin so sorry to hear about your adversity and obstacles! I hate his plays because it’s not modern English but I have some favorites! Merchant of Venice, othello, hamlet. I hated Romeo and Juliet! Forced to read that in 9th grade:( Leonardo and Kate winslet and Claire Danes did a reenactment and I honestly think as 9th graders, Romeo and Juliet is too violet to assign kids.

My other friend yin did complain that she was assigned the midsummers night dream play and she was learning to love it:( I actually was never assigned to read that play, thankfully! I much like clearer English writers such as Ronald Dahl, jk Rowling, Charles dickens, and Ernest Hemingway.

John Steinbeck and Nicholas sparks too! Shakespeare works are a bit to archaic for me:( but the divine comedy by Dante was also assigned to me and Frankenstein:( I guess we both like plays to some extent, but I prefer ones with a happy ending and not too long, lol.

@bazaargirl Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, I finally made myself be done with it. I resisted the urge to work on it more and finally varnished it a few days ago. I will update the picture tomorrow. 🤗
