1960s caged glass (also known as Imprisoned Glass) was made by Filipe Derflingher a famous glass blower from Mexico. A 1964 edition of Popular Mechanics featured his process of imprisoned glass. He explained how he made cylinders of metal with cutout shapes which he then blew molten glass into creating bulging glass out of the openings. This bulging resulted in the bubbles that you see in the glasses here. Each glass has the pontil mark on the bottom where the glass was cut off. These glasses have become highly sought after.

6" Tall x 3' Wide
