So you know if you are purchasing a real SkinCeuticals product or a fake. The real dropper on the left and the fake dropper on the right. The real has a rounded dropper at the end and the fake has a curved point at the end of the dropper. Notice the difference in color. The authentic box should have a clear plastic sticker on it. The last picture shows a raised stamp on the bottom of the bottle. There should be something like this on an authentic bottle and also a product code stamped as well.

gdevito @flsunshine777 ok mine I just purchased from a lady has the SS raised on bottom. But the solution is that color on right and my dropper is not curved ? Hmmm.
Mar 30Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @gdevito does it have a tacky feel when you put it on your skin? If so that is authentic
Mar 30Reply
gdevito
gdevito @flsunshine777 yes it does feel kinda tacky
Mar 30Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @gdevito Yes all of that sounds like an authentic one. There are a lot of people on here selling authentic products but unfortunately there are bad seeds as well

gdevito
gdevito The solution look like one on right tho it’s more a rosy color ?
Mar 30Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @gdevito the color can vary a little from product to product. Plus it will probably darken more overtime. But it shouldn’t be super watery because that product is a liquid but it’s a little bit thicker and has a tacky feel on the skin. If it is the SS on the bottom I’m pretty sure it’s legit

lorioverley1967
lorioverley1967 I think it's so totally sad, people would makeand sell fake products that go on your face/EYES!!! of all places. it's amazing the greed of people for a few lousey bucks... and risking the fact that it could cause someone a serious reaction. and the thing that gets me, is that some of these fake products are hundreds of dollars! it's not like they're selling them for 10 bucks! the only way I can describe that is absolute EVIL..

pollly @flsunshine777 I’m really upset that Poshmark was aware that he was selling counterfeit items and I was still able to purchase from him a couple weeks ago. I wasn’t aware that counterfeit skin care was such a problem. Thank you so much for making me aware. I don’t have the knowledge to sift through real and fake, given that these products are going on my face I’ve decided to only buy from authorized resellers from here on.
Apr 29Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @pollly and there ARE good quality products here as well. Feel free to ask me and I’ll find you and authentic seller :)

kristich Hi! What about @ memshopshop They’ve posted and sold a lot of the ce ferulic
May 01Reply
kristich
kristich And @ hcsale
May 01Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @kristich so both of those sellers look very familiar in what they are selling and they don’t have any picture of an open bottle so you can see the dropper. You can either ask for those pictures and/or purchase the item, examine it BEFORE you except it, and then if it’s a fake demand a refund.
May 01Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @kristich meshopshop claims that she is a high ranking sales person selling R+F and get free product which is true because I use to sell it. However I would just examine the items once you order to make sure they are authentic

May 02Reply
play9go
play9go @flsunshine777 not home now but it’s watery, not at all oily, doesn’t smell smoky, and the packaging is sloppy. The stickers on the bottles have bubbles and aren’t applied smoothly. Boxes didn’t have the sticker but were shrink wrapped.
May 02Reply
flsunshine777

taniabella76
taniabella76 @flsunshine777 hi! thanks so much for this info! I have purchased on here from 2 sellers: 1 is pjscloset who I trust the other is thesecret702 whom I only just recently purchased from and am considering again so I have a question. what about serums like retexturizing activator which is clear or ha intensifier which is brownish similar to the fake color u posted.
May 02Reply
taniabella76
taniabella76 also, the derm store sent out an email regarding being aware of frauds and they said look for the recycling logo on back(real), the turquoise color on label is always darker(real) not light blue, but one thing confused me was the dropper itself. all are supposed to be straight to the rounded tip?some don't have a little dip thing like the intensifier?

reginalacey
reginalacey This maybe true for some products but not all. I’m currently comparing my bottle of phyto corrective gel and there’s no SS stamped on the bottom of my bottle. However there is a code. My tip is rounded as well and I know from working in a spa that this bottle is authentic. You do have some great advice. 😊
Sep 16Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @reginalacey I cannot speak for the Phyto product because I don’t use that one. But the product I have used all have some sort of raised stamp on the bottom but never the same as the SS. I’ve never seen a bottle with only a product code and no RAISED stamp in some form
Sep 16Reply
reginalacey
reginalacey @flsunshine777 Trust me... I really APPRECIATE your input. I actually just opened the box of some B5 hydrating gel and solution is clear but it’s hard for me to see the tip of the applicator to determine if it’s round or pointed, without breaking the seal. There is no SS on the bottom of the bottle but there is code on the bottle and the box. I wish you could see these items.
Sep 16Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @reginalacey if you open it and it real you keep it. Don’t be afraid to open because of its fake you can report and request a refund.

vibenthrive
vibenthrive @flsunshine777 Okay, I posted it. Seems to me soo many things questionable on it. Crooked label, cracks/blemishes on bottle, crooked screw top lid, dropper shape wrong, bottle isn't full, color is off, liquid consistency watery, smells like musky/saw dust.
Sep 24Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @klea110 on so the F63 is exactly what’s on my bottle, the dropper is the only thing that looks wrong. The color is fine! It darkens over time. It should smell the same though.....kind of like hotdog water lol
Sep 25Reply
vibenthrive
vibenthrive @flsunshine777 Yeah, it doesn't smell like it, and the consistency of the liquid is very runny, not like other CE Ferulic products I've used.

elinashkhiyan i just bought the ha intensifier and the ce ferulic from someone on M E R. i just got them both and they’re sealed. SS raised stamp and a code in on the ce but on the HA there’s no raised stamp just a code. is this fake? the droppers are rounded tho. i just tested the ce and it’s like yellow and watery. i really don’t know what to do.
Nov 01Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @elinashkhiyan I’ve seen the HA serum with the curved dropper before. I’m not familiar with how it feels. The CE should though have a tacky feel on the skin.

annabykova @sapfleider @flsunshine777 Just wanted to share my experience: Ordered B5 from another app, I threw away the box; colors are blue, not teal, SS and 22 stamp on the bottom, batch number in yellow, the tip is rounded, distributed by CAI. What is this CAI? I’m inclined to think that it’s fake. It didn’t do anything to my skin, really. I also have a sample of retinol 0.3 and glycolic cleanse, both distributed by CAI. Is that all fake, too? Thank you!

nellis808
nellis808 @annabykova I countries like China and a few others it’s a multi billion $$ business. When I traveled to Korea and one of the flight attendants with me was from there and took us to “under ground” operations. Meaning what is sold on street for $25. Is nothing compared to brands sold behind the curtains for $100.
Mar 28Reply
nellis808
nellis808 @annabykova And they have mastered and I mean mastered brands such Gucci LV etc and skin care like MAC and SkinCeuticals whatever is USA demand they will duplicate... it’s actually really unbelievable and you’d be shocked like SC in its warning it’s counterfeits have mastered duplicates
Mar 28Reply
nellis808
nellis808 @annabykova that’s why they try to change up to y things in verbiage or the size of nipple dropper or if your a Mac lover the spout or nozzle size look carefully. Always buy from certified dealer.

daniellesteve @flsunshine777 does the box of your authentic version have "U.S. Pat No. 7,179,841" underneath blurb after the ingredients on the back? I noticed some boxes included this whilst some did not. Maybe this is another distinguishing characteristic of authentic vs fake

poohshoes Hello all. I heard that the word, "net" as in net 30 ml indicate that it is fake. Is that correct? The skinceuticals website does not have the word, "net" on the bottle but other authorized sellers sell skinceuticals products with the word, "net" on them.

wstr
wstr I just got one on M to the Ercari that I think is fake. The seller has almost 200 five star reviews, and the product/packaging look super realistic, but several suspicious aspects: first, it doesn't have that strong thyme-ish smell. It barely smells like anything, and that's definitely not the case for ones I've purchased directly from stores. It also has the curved dropper end (though it sounds like sometimes that's legit?). Lastly, it has the "distributed by CAI" wording on the box. Fake?
Oct 01Reply
wstr
wstr Also, thank you so much for posting this! This thread has been super helpful when I was trying to figure out if the one I got might be fake. To be safe, I'm not going to use it, after reading all of the above and comparing to the one I got.
Oct 01Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @wstr reviews mean NOTHING. If the smell and texture is different from the real product you’ve used before it’s definitely a fake. And if they only sell mostly the same products that’s also a red flag
Oct 01Reply
poohshoes
poohshoes @wstr Hi,@flsunshine777 is correct, reviews mean NOTHING. My husband and I sell on-line for a very popular on-line store for 20+years and people will steal websites for something that was originally 5 Stars and 200 reviews but the product is completely different. You'll know if you read the reviews and the item they are selling does not match the reviews.
Oct 03Reply
poohshoes
poohshoes @wstr SkinCeuticals is famous for their CE Ferulic and if you see a seller selling a ton of these or any other products in abundance, I'll bet it's fake. Some sellers will also state that the manufactur price is just a little more expensive than their selling price as to not seem too fishy. For example, they will suggest that the selling price for the SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic is $89 (rather than $166) and they are selling theirs for $55ish dollars.

Dec 16Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @niketwn I have never ever had a problem returning a fake items from that website. They are always very very good about refunding money for a fake product
Dec 16Reply
niketwn
niketwn @flsunshine777 Were you asked for documentation to prove that it was fake? I think unfortunately because I was outside of their 3 day period, that's why I'm being asked. I think personally it's an awful site with unreasonable policies. That's just me.
Dec 17Reply
niketwn
niketwn @flsunshine777 You may have addressed this already, but is it true that all bottles should show the recycling symbol? Mine does not and the batch number on the bottom is the exact batch of another person on line who was scammed on M E R C. Zero of the trademark fragrance and the viscosity is not that of an authentic product (no stickiness).
Dec 17Reply
niketwn
niketwn @flsunshine777 It's going to be hit or miss on these sites. While we now know what to look for in an imposter product, I also would not want a seller to show me photos of an open package that they're going to turn around and send to me. Everyone wants a sealed, authentic product I'm sure. Apart from the obvious hygiene issues, the serums begin to lose potency once opened.
Dec 17Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @niketwn you have to inspect the items once you receive it. Yes you have to send 8 pictures and a description of why you believe it’s fake. I don’t think they’re unreasonable at all. But you have to remember to inspect it within that three day window. You have three days to inspect it and then they release the funds to the seller. Once the funds are sent to the seller there is nothing they can do
Dec 17Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @niketwn can you post some pics of the product on your Poshmark page including the dropper and serum so I can see? I have no fear in purchasing any product that I’m familiar with because I inspect it soon as it comes and if it’s fake I always get my money back
Dec 17Reply
niketwn
niketwn @flsunshine777 To clarify, this is not M E R C is saying they want from me. They want photos of course, however, they also want a statement from an authorized merchant stating that it is, in fact, a fake product. I don't know of anyone willing to do that, they will only go so far as to say it is "not likely" authentic and that the only way they will confirm anything is if the product was purchased from them which of course it was not. I already know 100% it is fake.
Dec 17Reply
niketwn
niketwn @flsunshine777 Additionally, the seller was willing to credit me if M E R C would open it back up. They wont. Still curious about the recycle stamp though, can't seem to find an answer to whether it appears on all bottles or not.

Feb 02Reply

thomsoea I believe milgra87 is selling fake products. Beware! I saw this thread after I ordered it and all the signs are there. It’s the HA intensifier and was a bright red/purple color rather than light brownish tint. Super thin instead of the thicker consistency. Dropper tapers and opens rather than being uniform. allyjcunningham
allyjcunningham Hi, I just bought the Phloretin CF from a seller on poshmark and the product smells very sweet! Almost like apples! It’s not smoky, no hot dog smell, very very sweet. Can someone please please tell me if this is normal? I am having such a hard time figuring this out. I would really appreciate the help.

allyjcunningham @flsunshine777 is there ANY one selling this product cheaper that’s legit?
Mar 03Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @allyjcunningham usually it will be sellers that have a real picture of themselves and/or are selling other items and not just a whole bunch of the product you’re ordering and/or are selling at a reasonable price but not super cheap like the one you bought

Apr 02Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @cayennie1 I can’t tell by just looking at the seller…..are you familiar with the product? If so you would just need to inspect it before you rate the seller and you you’ll have time to notify Poshmark and return

suzysales
suzysales A website said that an image of the measurement on the side of the bottle is counterfeit but I see they have it on their website. So that sounds wrong - also, it shouldnt be in plastic wrap?
Aug 20Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @suzysales plastic wrap is not always an indication that it’s real. I have had many fakes wrapped in plastic. Your best bet is to know your product. If you know the product because you’ve used it before you never be fooled by a fake.

slecrone3 So I purchased a SkinCeuticals CE from Posh-it is wrapped in plastic and has a holographic sticker on the front. It seems right if the bat to be fake just by that alone from what I’m finding out…I’m so pissed! I plan to refuse it- Do I need to open it and take pics of the bottle as well for Posh to refund me or will they refuse to refund bc I opened the package. Will pics of the outside be enough? Anyone have experience with being sold fake product that can lmk?
Nov 23Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @slecrone3 you would open it just to make sure the liquid is not authentic as Poshmark will need more than just the outside description of why it’s fake. I’ve never had any issues with refunds as long as you do it within the short timeframe after receiving product. The fact that it’s in plastic wrap with the hologram sticker doesn’t necessarily make it fake.
Nov 23Reply
slecrone3
slecrone3 @flsunshine777 oh I have been in here reading that the boxes only come with the clear plastic tape tabs on top and bottom. And SC emailed me back saying they don’t normally shrink wrap products. So the wrapped box with the round sticker may be legit? Of course I asked the seller for proof of purchase and never received an answer.

flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @slecrone3 who is the seller?
Nov 24Reply
slecrone3
slecrone3 @flsunshine777 I bought one from @avella693 and one from @beautyspotin. But it looks like they might be the same person under 2 accounts. The shipment is coming from the same place? Odd.
Nov 24Reply
flsunshine777
flsunshine777 @slecrone3 those definitely look like fakes. I would never buy from a person who’s only selling the same skin care. I usually only buy from people who . If I can’t talk to the person and they sound legit, I don’t buy from them.

kentwistle86 Is anyone here familiar with beautybabyyy xo ? I bought a whole bunch of stuff including Skinceuticals Serum 10, retinol 0.5 and and ZO Growth factor Eye Serum. The eye serum made my eyes puff up, and my skin has been breaking out like crazy. The eye thing was weird, but the rest I just figured I was sensitive to the high Vit C in Serum 10, and that my skin might be cranky about the move from retinol 0.3 to 0.5. Should I dig deeper into this one?

azela18 @kentwistle86 I just bought 3 products from this seller too and everything seems legit! I’m curious to have another opinion though

kentwistle86
kentwistle86 @azela18 That's good to hear! What products did you get? One thing I'm wondering is if all products in bottles usually have a raised ridge running down where the tape measure print is. I had noticed it on a bottle of Phyto Corrective Gel that I had bought from a verified seller, but the label on all of my bottles now is just smooth.

azela18
azela18 I bought the Hydrating B5 gel, the a.g.e. advanced eye cream and the daily moisture cream. I already own the B5 gel, and the bottle and packaging of the one I received are exactly the same as the one I own. The B5 gel bottle does not have a raised ridge. I wrote to her and she says the products come from spas that she owns. I'm pretty sure this is legit! :)

carolynnnxoxo Hi! You’re awesome for what you’re doing here. I’ve been wanting to buy the AGE interrupter off of the seller youbeauty on M E R C A R I. I haven’t used the product in years so I can’t remember exactly how it feels or smells. Does this seller “youbeauty” look legit? The listing is for “ SKINCEUTICALS A.G.E. Interrupter 1.7oz USED ONCE LOT OF 2” Thank you!!
