Wow! A fashionable tilt hat from the 1940's. In black felt, it has 2 huge (10 x 6 1/2") black, many petaled roses with one dangling bud and leaves. The body of the hat, or the part that sits on the back of the head, is shoe shaped. It would need to be attached to the hair with hair pins. This was designed by Merrimac with early fabric tag of rampant lion and Merrimac in orange and green. This was sold by Block's Hats of Distinction 4646 Sheridan Road (Chicago area).
