Pendant with a mechanical compass designed by Francis Barker Son.
This is a very rare antique compass pendant, created in London England during the Edwardian period, back in the 1907. This elusive piece has been crafted by the company of Francis Barker Son famous for the best worldwide compass production. The compass has been made up in the shape of a pocket watch in solid yellow gold of 15 karats with high polished finish. It is fitted on top with a movable ring to wear in a chain or a fob and is framed by two thick bombe crystal. This is a super interesting "scientific" pendant and will definitely be a great conversation starter because of its rarity and unusual motif. It is great to wear in your neck and never been lost in your city or your future travels.
Weight: 26.30 Grams, (16.86 Dwt).
Measurements: 57 mm by 30 mm by 12 mm (2.24 x 1.18 x 0.46 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped twice with British marks for the city of London, the maker's mark F.BSn associated to Francis Barker Son, the mark .625 for the assay and warranty of the 15 karats, the italic letter M for the production year of 1907 and signed, "F.B Sn. 15 .625 M".
Note: The goldsmith mark of Francis Barker Son was registered in London in March 1894.
