You will need a screw driver to put the batteries in. I will not ship with the batteries in the compartment. Under the keys are pretty dirty, there is no way for me to clean under there. I cleaned the outside surface of this toy. This was all 6 of my kids toy when they were toddlers. They loved it so much when they were little. I am happy to pass this on to another family, that can love it and have so much fun, as much as my kids loved it and had so much fun with it. Great memories were made with this.
