Stunning silky black 1940s cape coat. Genuine real fur is very soft... softer than mink. The color is so rich saturated jet black. With wide pronounced shoulders... a bold statement of the 30s 40s. Always makes me think of joan crawford. Has unique openings down the front sides so you can wear this with your arms out if you wish. Shown both with arms in and arms out. This is true 40s Victorian revival, I can see this paired with a gothic victorian era look. Definitely art deco! Perfect for that winter wedding, or a ritzy jazz age party. Fur stoles have been a fashion staple of a wealthy woman from the 1920s to the 1950s. Then they became almost none existent by the mid 1960s. Today they are making a come back. Flapper parties and flapper inspired weddings are bringing these ageless beauties back to life. I love the golden age of glamour and I hope they stick around in fashion for awhile. Beautiful vtg condition for its age. Being nearly 100 years old. it is not dry or shedding at all. Fur is lush and soft. Lining is clean and beautiful. No rips or stains. Its really beautiful in person...was hard to get good pics There are some tiny worn places along the edges & hidden under the arm openings. But I feel this is very minimal average wear not really seen when wearing.
