3 quick ways to tell if a MAC eye shadow is counterfeit
1) Authentic MAC uses CAPITAL LETTERS for shade names on box top & case back. If upper- & lowercase letters are used (see photo), it's COUNTERFEIT.
2) Authentic MAC uses light gray, NOT bright white, lettering on back of case. Case on the right is COUNTERFEIT.
3) Authentic MAC boxes have a very expensive scratch-resistant coating. A fingernail lightly scratched across an authentic MAC eye shadow box will NOT show a scratch.
Please be careful when purchasing online from MAC resellers. Many of us sell only genuine products, but there are thousands of fakes made in contaminated labs around the world. They are not MAC quality and can contain dangerous--even toxic--ingredients and bacteria.
Counterfeit products fund illegal activities that victimize human beings. SELLING FAKES IS NOT A VICTIMLESS CRIME.
**NOTE: this is an educational listing to help Poshers avoid fake makeup, not a product to buy. Please do not purchase.

What about pan refills? I look for those because I rotate when I get bored with colors

@che_laura Pan refills are less likely to be counterfeited because the price per item is lower. Criminals go for higher profit items. Hope that helps!

@che_laura Check #3 and also the 4th photo in this listing. The refill cardboard envelopes are made of the same scratch resistant cardboard as the other MAC boxes.
