oscarandlucy I’m sorry about my delayed response, but thank you for the measurements. It’s such a beautiful jacket, but I think it will be too big for me too. I have a really good tailor who could work on it, but I don’t see any straight seams on the sides or back. Everything looks to be made of patches. Is there an area that I am missing?

cmwstyle @oscarandlucy No problem! It is probably fairly complex, though there are seams - if you look at the 3rd photo, you can see that the ones on the side, they are just a bit more hidden because of the black velvet. The patches on the back do seem (hah) to all meet in the middle, but because of the lining I'm not really sure what the structure is like underneath. My favorite tailor retired, or I might have held onto this, haha!

oscarandlucy I think I see where you mean, both on the sides and the middle of the back. I’m not sure how altering the back seam would affect the look with the new placement of the patches (size and color wise). I want to think about this since the jacket plus alterations would be an investment. I’ll get back to you. Thank you!
