After weathering several hurricanes that hit Florida stating in 2004 and the ensuing long term power outages my Dad gave me this hand crank radio. Since then the hurricanes have targeted other areas, not mine. So I never used the radio and other than a couple of scratches on the box, it’s new. The hand crank radio also uses batteries. When the batteries run out you can use the hand crank as a power source. According to the info on the packaging you can even recharge a cell phone with this radio. The radio has an old school antenna, dials and volume control. Believe me, old school is what you need when the power goes out. If you still have a land line the only phone that works in a power outage is an old school phone that you dial and one that is plugged into the phone cable in the wall.
