You can use it as a backpack or a shoulder bag, the straps are adjustable. It's in between a day pack and a mini pack size. I like the zipper on the back with the straps for versatility, if you want to wear it as a day pack, or a backpack. Much prettier in person! The embroidery detailing is beautiful and I like the flexibility of unzipping the straps to use as a backpack or zipping them close to wear as an over the shoulder bag.
