Cut in Memphis and Hollywood in 1973, Raised on Rock / For Ol’ Times Sake captures Elvis working with the TCB Band on a mix of swampy title-track boogie and reflective ballads like “For Ol’ Times Sake”. This U.S. first pressing on black RCA Victor labels (catalog APL1-0388) spins at 33 ⅓ RPM and still carries the lightweight Dynaflex vinyl RCA was experimenting with in the early ’70s. Visually the disc sits at a solid VG+—a few superficial sleeve lines, no feel-able scratches—and play-tests clean with just light background between tracks. The jacket shows more love: ring-gloss and a bottom-left corner chip bump it to VG- overall (see photos). Inside you’ll find the original star-pattern RCA inner sleeve. A nice budget pick-up for Elvis collectors looking to fill a chronological gap or for crate-diggers chasing that under-sung 1970s Presley groove.
