bamberg101 The band is a little shiny, it is elastic bands sewn together. The cotton has a not shiny but also not matte look. If that makes sense. They don't look look like leather pants. HA! I don't know if it would be cropped for you. I am 5'6 1/2 inches and a normal inseam for me, to just above my ankle would be around 25 inches . If I wanted it to go to the top of my shoe, it would have to be around 28 or 29 inches. So depending on how long your legs are, it could be different for you. Hope this helps.
