Egyptian Carnelian & Coil Necklace

When I first brought this home it smelled like middle eastern spices. Oh yum! Give me that hummus! But in all seriousness this is a lovely piece. With four strands of hand crafted coils and hand turned carnelian beads it has an earthy glow about it. Absolutely unique, but doesn’t scream “Look At ME!!” …its one of those jewelry pieces that other collectors will notice and ask about, that other people will be drawn to and compliment without quite knowing why. Such is the nature of handmade jewelry- the imperfections become the strength, adding interest and character. True Vintage, but restrung right before I acquired it. Stone is carnelian, metal is copper, hook clasp is bronze (?) — brass (?) — don’t quote me on the clasp! 😅 Finding *real* coil work is becoming difficult.
