EUC Bottle Shock DVD. An inspiring true story about California wine popularity

Set in 1976, when an Englishman, played wonderfully by Alan Rickman ( Love Actually and Harry Potter) decides to invite small vineyards in Napa Valley to send an assortment of their wines to France for a blind tasting against French wines. Spoiler alert: The beginning of the California wine industry really taking off!! The story features Bill Pullman ( While You Were Sleeping) as a California vineyard owner and wine maker trying to keep his business alive. His son, Chris Pine ( 3 Star Trek movies and People Like Us) is a fun loving hippy who works (sometimes) in the vineyard but is able to make a great contribution to saving his family’s vineyard. This movie has a great 1970’s music soundtrack! Very interesting characters and it weaves together the start of the popularity of well made California wines ( not everyone is Gallo).
