ELEGANT 1960S' OFF-WHITE STRAW HAT WITH BROWN FEATHER TRIM + VEIL

This is a beautiful off-white straw hat made in a round shape. The short crown is flat at the top, and is lined inside with a stiff netting of the same color to give it structure. The brim is upturned. Surrounding the crown there is a chocolate brown grosgrain band. The trim consists of two different types of chocolate brown feathers. There are short and fluffy ones, and there is a tall, curved large feather. To complete this elegant look, there is a full brown veil. The veil van be tucked inside the brim, or worn over the face. The hat wearing requirement from previous decades was drastically subsiding in the 1960s. Most dressy hats in the 1960s were worn by women who embraced the traditional etiquette rules of wearing hats to match the occasion. Label: Union Made This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. NOTE: As seen in the last photo, there is a small tear inside the hat's net lining, which is not visible from the outside. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
