Jakks Pacific continues its line of self-contained controllers with EA Sports TV Games. Two best-selling sports titles, Madden NFL 95 and NHL 95, are housed within a black control pad reminiscent of the classic three-button Sega Genesis controller. Both 16-bit sports games are emulated versions of the Genesis cartridges, with one notable change: neither title has official player names due to licensing issues. The controller also includes a built-in battery to save statistics and season progress. Four AA batteries (sold separately) are required to power the controller. EA Sports TV Games was released in two distinct versions: a single controller for solo play and a two-controller bundle for head-to-head contests against a friend.
